Good Afternoon Folks,
Well the weather is certainly seasonable . Not to cold, not to warm. Could use a little more warm though?
I don’t know if I ever gave the listeners any background on the Mattress & Sofa Warehouse and how we came to be. So I’m going to give a brief history. Long before we were a retail store, the old factory out back was actually a veneer mill. That was transformed to a mill for manufacturing piano parts for company called Pratt Read Corp. in 1971. In 1989 that company was bought and the transformation into a bedroom furniture plant began. In our hayday we produced over well over 50 bedroom sets a week. We also added a dining table line before shutting down the shop in 2016. We converted one of the lumber store warehouses into what we now know as the Mattress & Sofa Warehouse in 2014.
The reason I gave the background is that we were a producer of heirloom quality bedroom and dining room pieces and we are continuing that with our solid maple and cherry pieces from Penns Creek furniture. We still believe that this type of craftsmanship is important.Penns Creek utilizes mortise and tenon construction and dovetail joints just like we used to do in our construction, and that means its built to last, and you can see the care and craftsman ship that goes into each piece.
So come on down to the Mattress & Sofa Warehouse, and see what I’m talking about, and you won’t be disappointed.
